When the versa 3 was launched it Listed new technology for HR rate monitoring which was a disaster in my opinion it was no where close to accurate. My question is will the same technology be on the versa 4? Moderator please fill free to jump in you should have the answer to my question.I returned my versa 3 after two months because of the HR issue trying to decide about the versa 4.

There is no 4 announced yet. Probably won't be anytime soon.

@Lilly.b The Fitbit Store has an Versa 4 image that you can rotate 360°. The back looks just like the back of the V3. I don't think we'll know about an improvement until we see independent reviews. My two favorites are DC Rainmaker and The Quantified Scientist.

Thanks for the info.. I will be watching if it’s the same process as versa 3 that will be deal killer for me.

It's also worth noticing that Fitbit doesn't use anywhere name "PurePulse" which may be a sign of doing something differently for V4 and S2.

One would like to think that Fitbit would have spent time and resources fixing one of the single biggest issues from the previous generation.
At this stage I would say it's not unreasonable to wait until some reliable reviews come in before placing an order.

@N8teGee I usually wait until product is more matured (so 6 months to year). Any brand. I don't understand rushing to pre-order a product we know very little about (and Fitbit isn't helping out here). It isn't uncommon that very first release is far from being in "production" state. No need to rush and then regret. Especially with previous experience of issues with Sense.

I don't think there's a problem as such with pre-ordering if the company has a track record of releasing well made and complete products. Unfortunately over the years Fitbit has proven to us that they don't seem to be one of these companies. You have to earn the trust of customers, and the way to do that is delivering on what you promise. Not release a product with all the key features "coming soon" or full of issues and bugs.
Hopefully we will be wrong with the Sense 2 and Versa 4 and they deliver something great.

I agree nothing wrong with preordering but not with Fitbit especially after the last two years. They went from a great company to one with all kinds of problems. What I don’t understand is just be honest if you have a problem own up to it. I have been using a Fitbit device for over eight years big fan of the app tracking my health. I am willing to give them one more chance. Everything start with accurate HR monitoring if that wrong it’s all wrong. I was just trying to get a heads up but I have no choice but wait and see after it’s been out for a few months. The moderator would be a big help to speak up and give some insight on the HR monitoring for V4.

Hi @Lilly.b - the heart rate sensor is different on the versa 4, it doesn't use pure pulse 2 and the image you see on the website is just a drawing so it's not possible to see how it actually is.
Before choosing to switch watches check also the features removed on the 4.
