Fitbit Versa 4 watch is showing less steps than app

Recently started wearing my Versa 4 again after a years break.

My app shows that I've done around 1000 more steps than my watch. I have tried resetting and restarting but it just doesn't add up. Any advice?

Hi there @LaylaMc! A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thank you so much for letting us know about this situation.

I checked with support and it seems like you already have a case created. My best advice is to keep an open communication with them so they can provide you with more details about your situation.

As you mentioned that the step count between your watch and phone is not matching, can you please check if you have MobileTrack activated?

MobileTrack is a Fitbit feature that uses your phone's sensors to count steps when you don't have your Fitbit with you.

It's possible that the steps recorded on your phone overwrite those on your Versa 4.

Here's how to turn this feature off:

  • In the Fitbit app, tap the device icon (top left).
  • There you'll see the devices paired with your account.
  • If you see the "MobileTrack" option, tap it and remove it from the account.
