In syncing with my phone, between that and my versa the app has completely glitched and I have now apparently done over 1 million steps today?! Help?! I  am not enjoying this where there seems to be no logic in the app to think this is odd.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Bumble_Bee!

That really looks strange. You're obviously one of the first using Fitbit's latest app version, so there might not be very much user experience with this specific version so far.
I'd suggest to clear the app's cache and then restarting your phone as a first attempt to hopefully get things right.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.
