My versa 4 has been malfunctioning for over a month, the sensor that counts floors is faulty at the very least. This watch is barely 6 months old and I also bought the extended warranty for this overpriced garbage.
I started a claim with Fitbit weeks ago and all I’ve been able to get back from them is repetitive instructions for troubleshooting, all of which I’ve done and none of which has fixed the faulty watch. The most recent troubleshooting has, instead, caused additional problems in that my watch is now no longer getting notifications.
The update I received today is that they will “continue to monitor the situation” but “may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future”.
I spent hundreds of dollars and additional money on an additional warranty to have a watch with all of the features Im paying for and ALSO spending money on a premium membership to track, accurately.
This has been the most appalling customer service experience I have ever had, especially in regards to a product under warranty. There is no wonder that Fitbit has a 1 star rating on the BBB.
This is my 5th watch from them in 5 years and that should have been a red flag but previously I have not been denied a replacement under warranty.
Spare yourself the frustration and waste of money and go with Apple or garmin or literally any other brand. I am since I no longer have a Fitbit that works and have wasted too much money on such a poorly run company

Let me also add that not only does my watch not get notifications but it is also saying I’ve taken an excessive amount of steps as well as distance. I’ve been working a desk job since I woke up and it’s currently at 44 floors, 3700 steps and 1.5 miles. None of those states are even remotely accurate.

This affects me as well. And having the exact same problem since the moment I got this thing. Today it logged that I blocked up five flights of stairs. However I am sick with bronchitis and have not left the same floor all day. So it's impossible. They keep giving me the runaround and the runaround and the runaround and I'm really tired of it.

Sorry you’re dealing with it too, I’m sure a lot of us are and Fitbit just doesn’t seem to want to take accountability for faulty products

I just got off the phone with Fitbit - they are replacing it now. Have you tried calling? They did not ask me to reset again, they did not give me the runaround, it took about 10mn total but its being replaced. You can call them right from the app.

a bit of levity here - I wish that my weight/body would benefit from these fake numbers. You'd think I'd be in great shape for doing 30 floors while mostly typing on a computer. Yes - I walk a ton of stairs (I make a point to do 4 flights each hour) but I've been sick and yesterday it counted 5 flights while I was sleeping!

That’s great! I’m going to call today and hope for the best. Still never buying another watch from them after this
