GPS isn’t accurate (way off)

I am very disappointed in the GPS in the Versa 4, it is constantly off compared to other apps I use (runkeeper).

Ran 8.6 miles on runkeeper and Fitbit Versa 4 recorded 6.4, the 8.6 is accurate and true distance. Similar in a 5 mile road race ,   Versa 4 recorded 4.1 miles.

I cant wait for it to break so i can get something better.

Yes!!! I complained about this also. The GPS just stops working in the middle of the run. This watch has been very disappointing

I am having a similar issue. I lose GPS signal during runs. It seems to be an issue with the built-in GPS and there does not seem to be an option to use my phone's GPS (which was the default tracking method on my FitBit Versa 2). I am growing more and more frustrated with each subsequent run where my tracking data is incorrect. I hope they find a way to improve the connection of the Versa 4 built-in GPS or allow for the piggybacking option to my phone's GPS to improve the accuracy.

Sorry to hear that, the GPS on the Versa 4 and Sense 2 is off. Indeed the GPS is truly off. Read this to find out why the GPS is off: “It could be due to environmental limitations, a software glitch, or even a hardware error.” try doing connected GPS with your Sense 2 for better results.

Please follow these instructions given by Fitbit to fix this issue: Charge your device to at least 80%, as built-in GPS can cause the battery to drain more quickly. Go outside; then connect to GPS and start your exercise. To make sure the GPS connection is stable, you can wait up to 30 seconds after you see "Connected" on your device's screen to tap the play icon and begin moving.

I have done all of that. The tracking is horrible. Maybe it is the Maps app. But the GPS doesn’t even follow the roads that I am on. Whether it is a trail with no trees or on the road in a neighborhood. I have never had so much issues with any other smartwatch. Even my Versa 2 was more reliable.

I was so frustrated with Fitbit support, ended up purchasing an Apple Watch . Extremely happy with it and the gps matches Strava and Run keeper apps. Would not recommend Fitbit to anybody .

@SunsetRunner Versa 4 doesn't have Connected GPS feature. Only built-in GPS. Message "connected" is for built-in GPS (that it established connection with satellites).
