Google Maps aren't working on my Versa 4

Google maps appear on the app and the watch.  When I try to open Google maps on watch it tells me I need to give permission on the Fitbit app on my phone.  I have gone everywhere trying to find where can I allow the permission with no luck.  This is my last attempt before I return the watch. I already spent enough time trying to make this work.  The app says that the map is ready to go but it's not linking to the watch. Any advice?  Thank you

@franksan9 , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.

If you are using Android :

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture>Versa 4.
  2. Tap the Google Maps tile.
    • If you see a message that the Google Maps app isn’t installed, tap App Gallery and follow the on-screen instructions to add the Google Maps app to your Fitbit device, then return to the previous screen.
    • If you see a message that the Google Maps app isn’t installed on your phone, tap the app store link to download it.
  3. Tap Setup and follow the on-screen instructions to set up Google Maps on your Fitbit device.

If you are using an iOS device, please be aware that the feature will be added soon.

Thank you Juan,

When I go to the app and follow your instructions, I can see that Google maps are already there.  When I click on the tile it takes me to set up and it says set up complete.  I choose Auto-Start the cycling and walking. So far so good.

Now when I go to the watch, I tap on the side button, I can see Google Maps.  When I click on the maps I get a message that says "permission needed" and then a blue button that says, 'Fix Issue". Then I get a message that says: "Check that all permissions are selected for Google Maps in the Fitbit app gallery. To check permissions, continue on the phone". Then I see a blue tab that says 'Open". I click on it, I feel a vibration, and nothing happens.

It seems that the watch is asking me to give permission, but I don't know where or how to do that.  I hope this makes sense to you.  Any ideas please?

I tried it on two different phones with the same results by the way.  Motorola Edge 22 and a Samsung 9.

I had a similar problem and saw this answer online. It solved my problem and wondered if it would help you too.
Go to your phone's "Fitbit App" → "Your profile" → "Versa 4" → "Gallery" → "Versa 4 Tab" → "Google Maps" → "Permissions"

If you allow all permissions there hopefully it will clear the problem.
