Thinking of buying a Versa 4 to replace my Versa 2 as GPS has lost accuracy. I assume the built on GPS will be more accurate than using app. Am I correct?

Hi there, @Pamster67. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm glad to hear that you're interested in getting the Versa 4.
I've seen you contacted our Support Team regarding your Versa 2 and they've addressed your concern.
Regarding your inquiry, please note all devices with GPS sensors require a direct path to GPS satellites to calculate location. A weak GPS signal might affect the accuracy of your route and other activity data. Your device uses your step count to calculate distance until it finds a signal, so the total distance calculated for a workout may be slightly less accurate when GPS isn't available for the entire time. To learn more, see GPS.gov
For more information about GPS in general, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

Yes I contacted Fitbit and have tried various troubleshooting. I understand that Fitbit tries to calculate distance when signal is lost but my Fitbit used to work fine and it now looks to be loosing connection on the same routes which is very frustrating. I’m trying to find out if built in GPS works better than GPS on the app. Incidentally the Strava app doesn’t loose GPS signal on the same routes so feel it must be something wrong with the Fitbit app
