How can I select an exercise and locate GPS while NOT allowing versa 4 to start timing said exercise

To break it down, I'd like to know how I may allow the GPS to sync without the versa 4 automatically beginning the exercise, as since it is an automatic activation now, there is a lag time between my starting the exercise and the device registering progress. 

Tldr, how do I sync GPS and start the exercise tracking as 2 separate processes?

Hello @Anon5 and welcome to the Community.  If you want GPS for the whole exercise, then don't use the Quick Start shortcut from the Exercise tile on the screen.  If you are on the Exercise tile screen, tap on All at the bottom of the screen, choose your exercise, let the GPS connect, then tap on Start.
