If you are planning to get a Versa4, just don't!

I've just bought a versa 4 recently, and it is my first experience with Fitbit. Before that I was used with other tracker. And so far, it's horrible, a nightmare. I'm from Brazil, and I had to await almost a month, paid a lot of taxes and money convertion (none of this is Fitbit problems, but wait as how it get frustrating). I've saved some money and bought it because I tough it would be a great product.

Opening the box was beautiful. But in the moment I put it to charge, the problem and frustration. The charger appears to not be working, the Fitbit keeps vibrating as it is being plugged and unplugged from charging. I tried to clean it, and as far as I can see the problem is in the charger (not the cable) but the pins that plug in the watch; and going even beyond that it appears to be a product design problem.

For brazilians, this product price (after converting) is around $1k~$1.3k (with taxes); now i have to spent more money to buy another charger and HOPE that the problem is just the charger. Because if it's not the charger, I will just have burnt the money.

Also when I try to go the warranty at Fitbit site, I got an error. Very nice! My recommendation for everyone that would ask me, will be from now on, stay away from this brand.

@joao_seraphim Welcome to the Fitbit community!

Sad to hear that your initial experience with a Fitbit product wasn't all that great. From what you've mentioned, I assume that either the charging adapter or your device is defective. Having been bought just recently, both parts of course are covered by Fitbit's warranty.

Believe me or not, DOAs out of the box have happened to my with products by many manufacturers. But that's were warranty kicks in. I'd suggest contacting Fitbit support to get further assistance:

Hi @Talahthas thanks for the welcome. I have tried contact with the support, and still waiting their email for almost a week now. I got tired of waiting and bought a new charger from a store here at Brazil, and that solved my problem.

Since I've bought my Versa 4 from the official site, I was hoping for a full working product, but instead I had to spend more money to get it to work. I still do not recommend fitbit for anyone that asks me if it's worth the money. Reasons for that: bad product, bad support, always losing the heart rate during the exercise. Every basic thing that a Versa 4 had to do, it do poorly, a MiBand works better than this and its a shame.

I'm still using the product, trying to give it a chance for a month. But until now, 1 week of versa, my decision is inclined to sell this and get any other tracker.

@joao_seraphim Thanks for your feedback, even though it's not quite what I would have liked to hear.

As for your Versa 4 always losing the heart rate during the exercise, you should check how you wear your device. The back of the Versa 4 is really flat in comparison to it's predecessors. So, if you're exercising and starting to sweat, your device might get slippery and lose contact to the skin. Make sure to wear you Versa 4 tight enough and two fingers above your wrist:

I totally agree. I’ve had ten years of Fitbits starting  with the Flex and lost 75 lbs. I’ve stayed in maintenance due in large part to coordinating calories burned with diet & exercise- until the Versa 4. Now my stats are mainly  below zones with few active minutes and burned calories. I am so disappointed. I am so gone.
