Just one sleep stage on app

6/13/24 In free app, sleep stages changed today to just one stage of sleep time, "Time Asleep". If this is permanent, then Fitbit keeps taking things away so you pay for their very expensive Premium App. I won't.  My husband's $40 app watch does more than my expensive Fitbit.

Hello @jbwilks2000 and welcome to the Community.  From time to time, most users will experience a night where they get sleep patterns instead of sleep stages.  The most common reason for this is sleeping in a position where you lose good contact with the heart rate monitor.  Your Fitbit needs good contact to get the detailed, beat-to-beat heart rate.  Your daily heart rate graph might look fine, but each point is an average over five minutes.  You need a detailed, regular heart rate.

It wasn't permanent, thankfully! I don't know what occurred but today it returned to normal.  Sorry for the rant. I really like the sleep data.

Thank you for taking the time to share the inquiry regarding sleep stages and also for letting us know that it is normal now.

Just adding a comment to the helpful information provided by @LZeeWlet me recommend wearing your Versa 4 about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone and once you're awake, sync with the Fitbit app to check your details.

Thanks @LZeeW for your help.

I have the premium subscription (by accident) and I have this new horrible sleep summary. I’m so aggravated by it. They need to change it back.  So you’re not alone, I paid extra and the update that happened a little while ago sucks.

I find when programs (any) change the visuals,  it's always be hard to accept at first and then after a bit of usage, I get used to it and can't even remember the previous version. The new visual for sleep stages is very different, and I did like the former better. I am used to the new version now. My situation was that it lumped together all of my sleep time and didn't give me stages. Thank you for your input!
