Logo flashes followed by red X

None of the answers in the forums have worked, the watch only responds when I have it on the charger, take it off and reattach, the logo flashes followed by the red X. The only page it goes to is language followed by the help page about the app, but when I go to the app in the phone it will not sync. Did the phone turn off and on, remove and re-add the app, turn Bluetooth off and on, but can’t find the device. In the Fitbit app, Says connected to Fitbit, shows the Versa 4, hit sync your device and even though it says connected, the last sync was at 5 am yesterday. Now, after several minutes it says not connected and starts looking, finds it and reconnects but not syncing. And, in the Bluetooth app it says connected to Versa 4. I have an IPhone SE and have had the watch and same phone since 2023.

Yes. Do you have to send it in? I'm trying to decide if it would be better
to just put the money toward a new company. I'd be interested to know how
much it will cost for a new battery. Thank you!

I was looking for answer because I faced the same thing for my versa 4 - flashing screens and red cross. I found the solution and back here to help. Apparently, I learnt that this is a factory reset mode and I followed this YouTube video step by step and I managed to go back to normal : Get out of Factory Reset mode

May not be a battery issue, it’s software. I was stuck after factory reset but the YouTube video helped me. Posted above.

I solved my red cross. Posted solution above. Try. Worked for my versa 4. I hated the software update. Factory reset and found myself with flashing screens and red cross and the YouTube video was helpful. I followed step and step and got back my normal screen.
