Manually log activities are not being added accurately

I just got a Versa 4. I had a Versa 2. It seems when I manually add an exercise my calories and steps don’t increase. The calories and steps are just “taken” from my overall calorie burn/steps. Am I doing something wrong? I thought in the Versa 2 they were added. Thanks.

Hi there, @CarolineAS. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your manually log activities are not being added accurately. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As a first approach, please note that manually adding activities has nothing to do with your Versa 4 or Versa 2 as this process is done through the Fitbit app.

To go a bit deeper into how manually log activities work, please note that your data will be recalculated if you manually log an activity as the manually logged activity takes precedence over the steps you tracked while wearing your Fitbit device at that point in time. For example, if I am wearing my Fitbit device and walking I reach 10,000 steps, then I go to the Fitbit app and manually log an activity that starts and ends at that point in time for say 1 hour, Fitbit will calculate how many steps I took and it may bring my step count to something below 10,000 steps. So basically, we recommend using this option if you forgot to wear your Fitbit device or you want to record an activity that isn't detected automatically.

Hope the above clarifies what might have happened.
