I’ve noticed an issue with my Versa4 recently. In the last few weeks it suddenly has stopped loading maps for GPS enabled exercises (walk, run, skate, ski). For reference I bought this device new in July 2024.
It started a few weeks ago when I was in a remote area on a skate trail, and I figured it was likely because even my phone didn’t have a signal, so there was likely no way for my Fitbit to track GPS either. But then back in the city my last few runs and skates have also not logged the map function post-exercise. This has extended into a bigger problem because the exercise data is no longer syncing with other apps (Strava) that track exercise.
I’ve tried restarting the Fitbit, restarting my phone, uninstalling the app and reconnecting the devices. I’ve gone as far as disconnecting the versa from the app and partner apps and then reconnecting all linkages from square one. Nothing seems to be helping. It’s super bizarre because GPS tracking permission is set to « always » and my stats log the distance, but for some reason the map function is not available, even in the detailed exercise view.
Has anyone else run into this issue? Were you able to resolve it?

Hello @Mariaria89 and welcome to the Community. Are you getting your vibration notification and the icon that your GPS has connected? Do you have GPS connection for the whole activity?

Hi! Thanks for checking in. I do wait for the GPS signal to be connected before starting my activity, but noticed this weekend that I tend to lose GPS signal fairly often while out and about. This seems to be a recent issue since I’ve never had this problem in the past while in the city. I tried re-establishing GPS connection by opening the app on my phone and it didn’t work. For a 30ish minute run I think I might have had connection for 8 minutes of that. Will keep testing and checking throughout the activity, but it seems really strange to me since I’ve never had this problem before, even while in dense bush in the deep woods.

Did your problem fix?
Mine has not! I still can not see the track of my run or walk on the app!
