My experience with Versa 4 and Customer Service

My Versa 4 just quit after 15 months and while under warranty, I had issues that they could put a band aid on and now it's out of warranty and they say too bad, you need to buy another device. This is my 4th device in less than 6 years, they seem to last long enough to get out of warranty. I would highly recommend that you look for a different product other than fit bit

Hi @RobertDJ - in some countries the warranty is only one year, in Europe or other countries it is 2 or more.

Some good stores may have a policy to offer more for its clients.

Getting watches wet is generally not without risk after the warranty.

Did you check the forums for cases similar to yours in case there is a little known remedy.

Some credit cards may offer extended warranty above what is offered by default.

Hi there, @RobertDJ. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums.  We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

Please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy  is set into providing as much coverage as we can. For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty

Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with your Versa 4 and also want to find a resolution to your issue, my best advice is to keep the conversation with our Support Team. Note for this kind of inquiries/cases/process, there's not so much we here in the forums can do for you as this is something that our team handles based on our policies. Thanks in advance!

@Guy_ Thanks for your input!

I am in agreement. I am on my Fifth Fitbit device. This one is the versa four after a year and a half. It is not working any longer. I think they build them to break every single one of them has been out of warranty and Fitbit won’t do anything to help me or solve the issue Last longer than half years !

Hi carolmw.

This is only my opinion and experience. I have had my Versa4 for approximately two years. With continual use. Except for showers and charging. I have a paid premium. I'm happy with my Versa4 and Fitbit. The support team are always happy to provide advice and assistance.

I have a faulty Versa 4, 18 months old, and I see on the forums that it’s a feature of the screens to fall off for no apparent reason. Looks like Fitbit support isn’t interested in supporting - no response after a week.

Surely after years of complaints, Fitbit would have a product that is durable?
It would be useful if there was some help on the forums, or elsewhere, as to whether these are repairable, i.e. what adhesive is suitable, or do we just throw the faulty units out & buy another (non-Fitbit) model!

pity, because the watch has been good up to now.

FYI I had a Charge 3 before, but after 3 years the display faded into oblivion- apparently another Fitbit feature according to the forums.

Agree I'm at 18 months. Tried all the suggested resources and nothing has worked.

Same with my Charge 3 faded into oblivion after a couple years. Got the Versa 4 and now 18 months in, the screen went haywire and none of the suggested tries worked. It responds to putting the charger on and off and when I disconnected the watch on the app and reconnected the watch says "connected" but nothing else responds.  No water issues here  accept for perhaps sweat which I haven't seen brought up in all the comments but it is a Fitness tracker and supposed to be good to 50 meters. I would expect a daily dose of prolonged sweat should not effect the longevity of the watch life .

It’s wrong !!   A watch should last — people need to file complaints   Against ve probably spent $1000 on all the fitbits I’ve owned.  100% of them  -ALL of them-  quit working after short periods after being out of warranty
