Recently got a new versa 4 as my old versa2 had died. Have noticed when walking it does not track all steps. Today I was walking for half an hour and it picked up less than 10 steps. Also, when pushing the pram it doesn't register or when carrying anything.
After choosing an activity like walking, it doesn't stay on tracking, it goes off and does log things

Hello there, @Christineb83. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and sharing the details about the inconvenience with your new Versa 4. Sorry to hear about your Versa 2.
Please take into consideration all the information and tips shared by @JohnnyRow as this is the way Fitbit devices will track your steps when your hand is held steady. In these instances, you can try pushing the pram with one hand (the hand where the Fitbit device is not being worn). For more information, please see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
On the other hand, if you feel that the inaccuracy is all the time, not only when pushing the pram, please confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:
Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average.
Sometimes, when you start walking, your steps may not update on your device right away. After about 10-15 continuous steps, you'll notice the steps catch up and start updating in real time with each step you take.
Please know that I've moved your post to the Versa 4 board for organization purposes.

All models have trouble measuring steps when pushing pram or shopping cart, or when holding side rails walking on treadmill, or sometimes when carrying items. When the tracker is on your wrist, it can't really tell what your legs are doing; it can only infer steps from the movement of your arms as in regular swinging of your arms as when walking. When your hands are held steady on pram handles, steps cannot be detected, but heart rate is still detected so calorie burn is still good. If you are more concerned about step count than calorie burn, you can put tracker in a pocket and probably get good step count, but lose heart rate so not get calorie burn.
