New Versa 4 is unresponsive

My Fitbit Versa 4 is brand new. I started charging it last night. At one point it asked for country, and I clicked on US. Unfortunately, I fell asleep and this morning it is totally unresponsive. I tried pressing the side button for 30 seconds, with no result.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I'll be glad to help you out. 

Before anything else please confirm that you removed the plastic protective cover from the back of your brand new Versa 4.

In this case and considering that everything should be working correct, please try the following steps: 

  1. Restart your Versa: Press and hold the left button for about 10 seconds to restart your device.
  2. Clean the back of your device: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a small amount of water to gently clean the charging contacts on the back of your Versa.
  3. Clean the charging cable pins: Use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to clean the pins on your charging cable. Make sure to remove any cotton fibers from the pins.
  4. Try a different USB port or charger: Plug your Versa into a different USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
