New Versa 4 won't charge or pair with the app

I got a brand new Versa 4 and it will not charge or pair with the app.

I have tried all the troubleshooting steps - cleaned the BRAND NEW charger and watch, I have tried several different outlets and power bricks, done a reset and factory reset multiple times - nothing works. 

When I tried to pair the device with my phone and the app, it says it found the watch, but the watch doesn't show any code like it's supposed to. 

When I factory reset, I get the Fitbit logo flashing, red X, and then the screen goes dark and I get nothing.

This is absolutely ridiculous... how can your products be this terrible?!?!
