Official fix for Voice Text Transcription Error

UPDATE:  I spoke with a Google Supervisor today regarding the below post. The agent that wrote the mail to me gave false information. The fix for the transcription error will come via a watch update and NOT an application update. No idea as to when however. I apologize that this agent gave us false information.

 

 

 

 

1. Adressing the points discussed in our call, we are providing the official information and next steps:

  1. Transcription Error: We confirm this is a software issue that our technical team has already identified. No further factory resets are necessary. The definitive fix is included in version 4.68 of the Fitbit app. Please ensure you update your app in the Play Store as soon as it becomes available (it is being rolled out gradually this week).
  2. Fitbit Continuity: We want to reaffirm that Google has not discontinued Fitbit. In fact, as we mentioned, we are about to launch new devices (including next-generation activity bands) and continue to integrate the best health technology into our Versa and Sense lines.
  3. Forum Management and Complaints: We value your feedback regarding community moderation.

Got an update this morning.  I wasn't even excited because I just didn't have high hopes of it working.  Guess what????  It still doesn't work for me.  Also it's version 4.68.1 and yes I rebooted my phone and the watch.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Update did not fix Versa 2 transcription error

The update was for the APP Like more Detailed Sleep metrics improved accuracy etc.  There has not been a firmware update rolled out as of yet for the watch which in my opinion is suppose to be the fix.

In what you posted above.....

 

The definitive fix is included in version 4.68 of the Fitbit app.

 

That to me say new version of the app will fix it.  Doesn't mention firmware of the watch at all

Yes I agree on that standpoint the agent wrote that in the email to me. But normally the App then prompts to update the watch and in this case it has not.  I have noticed that the messages I get (notifications) on the watch will now open those on the phone if I click open. That was not working for me before. So maybe we are on the way for the complete solution. I did speak with Fitbit (google) support 5 min ago and they too confirmed that the watch will need an update so this issue will be resolved.  Thats all the info I got.

This is ridiculous.   It's still not working.  I've asked numerous times over the phone for an update like you said they gave you and they always tell me they aren't able to give that.  Make me wonder if what you got above wasn't really the case.

Really irritating to as this was supposed to be the 'definitive' fix.  Like hello this didn't fix it.  This has been going on for like five months now.

I got an email yesterday saying they are rebranding the FitBit app and it will be version 5.  Different look and feel.  I'm wondering if this new version will finally fix it.  I have no reason to think so other than hoping/guessing.  They said it would start rolling out in the next couple of weeks.

I just got that update as well just now and it still doesn't work. When i opened the app though it said to watch out for the new rebranded app coming soon.  I'm betting that won't fix it either though!
