Should I turn off my Versa 4 when not wearing it?

I can't wear Fitbit versa 4 at work so 5 days a week I'm not wearing it 7-9 hours a day depending on shifts

Is it healthier for the battery life and watch to turn it off when I'm at work or should I leave it on

Some things it's better to leave on because it uses more energy to keep turning on and off all of the time but I'm not sure about this regarding the watch

The reason I ask is because I can see the green lights at the back searching for my heartbeat which obviously isn't there so is that draining the battery more?

Hi there, @Bramble42. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I understand your concern. I'm here to answer your inquiry!

Battery life is the amount of time your Fitbit device runs after it’s charged to 100%. To maximize battery life, turn off or reduce your use of certain features. We also recommend turning off your device when you're not using it. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

For general tips and recommendations to preserve the battery life of your Versa 4, see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Regarding the heart rate, you can only normally see the lights flash when not wearing it and it detects some sort of presence and thinks you are wearing it.

If you place the watch face down with nothing (straps) in range of the sensors it should stop flashing. In this dormant state the battery will last longer when not wearing it.

Hi @Bramble42 - if you place it face down with the straps out of the way I would also recommend putting the watch in sleep mode so it's not trying to communicate either, to get minimal battery drain.

It uses very little in this state, I've had seen 15+ days possible between charges.
