Sleep tracker stops when I get up to use the restroom on Versa 4

I am on my 3rd Fitbit. It is the Versa 4. So far, this tracks sleep the worst of the three. It appears that when I get up to use the restroom, my sleep is not registered afterwards. Believe me, I go right back to sleep. Also I take a nap almost every day, and I don't recall seeing this recorded. I have Parkinson's Disease and tracking sleep is important and something I discuss with my doctors. I provide this information for clinical trials. Is there a fix or do I need another type of watch ? I signed up for the Premium Plan out of desperation, but don't feel as though I should have to pay extra for something which is advertised to be included.

Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the forums, @ParkieFLathlete.

Thanks for letting me know this situation with the sleep tracking using your Versa 4.

If you sleep at least 2 more hours once you go to the bathroom, your sleep needs to be tracked, you also need to take into consideration to wear the device correctly so the Versa 4 will track your sleep. Your Fitbit device detects and records naps that are at least an hour long. I invite you to check more information here.

Also, Fitbit are not medical devices, this means that getting this information to give it to your doctor is not something we recommend, however, it can be a guide.

Thank you for responding. I understand this is not reliable for medical purposes. I have read the hints and tips and info on Fitbit sleep. But for a guide, if I go to bed at 10pm, use the facilities at 1am and sleep until 6am then I am hoping to record 8 hours sleep, not 3 hours sleep. I have read many of the nuances like movement in the night. This is typical of many people affected by Parkinson's, but it appears I don't move much. I go to sleep on the same side of the bed, wake up on the same side, do not knock anything off my bedside table etc. And while in the bathroom I do not adjust the Fitbit, so I really can't understand why the recording of sleep is sometimes not counting the sleep after bathroom and sometimes it does record the sleep. I often sleep for more than an hour on my nap.

I've had my Versa 4 for about a week & have had to restart it twice in order to get the sleep time after getting up to be recorded on the watch.   It's fine on the app.
