Solution - Versa 4 phone icon with a line through it keeps appearing

Some people are facing this issue recently, and I was facing it too. So, wanted to come here and share what I did to resolve my problem hoping it can help other people.

First of all: this icon means the watch lost live connection with your phone, and it can happen even with the watch being connected in the phone's Bluetooth settings.

As shared on other similar posts, this can happen if the watch is out of your phone's bluetooth range, but this wasn't my case since I sleep with my phone by my side and this was happening with me.
I was annoyed because it wasn’t syncing my sleep data every day. On some days it was syncing, some days it just wasn’t, and this little phone with slash icon was appearing when it wasn’t syncing the data. So I noticed that this was happening when the Fitbit app was closed on my phone (sometimes I close all background apps).

To stop facing this issue, just make sure the Fitbit app is always open on your phone, and as soon as you wake up, go to the app and force a refresh of the data, and you should be good.

Now it's all good! Even if my phone's in my room and I'm somewhere else... It just stopped losing connection. 🙂

Hi there, @brother_Leo. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconveniences you have had with your Versa 4. We‘re taking your comments in regards to our products into consideration. I appreciate you for taking the time and sharing the steps that solved your inconvenience.

As you mentioned, the phone icon with a line through it means that your Fitbit device is out of your phone's Bluetooth range. If your device is constantly out of Bluetooth range, you may be experiencing syncing issues. For troubleshooting tips, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?. In the troubleshooting steps we recommend allowing your phone to have the Background App Refresh, just as you mentioned.

I would like to invite you to visit our Health & Wellness where you will find great tips and encouragement from other members.

Happy stepping!
