I have an existing subscription and want to add the 6 mo subscription that came with my new Fitbit Versa 4 to extend. The system doesn’t recognize and let me add subscription.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Abq1. I'll be happy to assist with your Premium Subscription Extension query.
If the Fitbit device you purchased indicates that it includes a trial to Fitbit Premium, but you’re currently a Fitbit Premium member, then you must cancel your Premium subscription in order to be able to activate the trial. About 1-3 days after your canceled subscription expires, you’ll find an offer in the Fitbit app to begin the trial. For instructions on how to cancel your Fitbit Premium subscription, refer to How do I manage or cancel my Fitbit Premium subscription?

Hi Andrea,
Could you clarify something for me please, in relation to a similar query. I purchased a new Fitbit charge 6 a couple of weeks ago, to replace my existing Charge 5 which is starting to have battery problems. The new Charge 6 came with a 6 month free trial of Fitbit Premium included in the price. I would like to start using the Charge 6 straight away, in place of the old Charge 5, but so far I have done nothing with the Charge 6 except to charge the battery fully. I have not activated the Charge 6 or registered it with my Fitbit App. The reason for hesitating is that I am half way through a paid annual Fitbit Premium subscription which is linked to and used with my old Charge 5. It seems to me that if I cancel my paid for subscription now, and then link my new Charge 6 to my account instead of the old Charge 5, I effectively lose half of the already paid for subscription and replace it with a ‘free trial’ that isn’t free because I had to lose out on half my paid for subscription to be able to activate the ‘free’ trial. This would leave me in exactly the same position as if I simply kept my already paid subscription going, and then renewed as normal in 6 months’ time - I.e. without deriving any benefit at all from the free trial included in the price I paid for the Charge 6. Is there any way round this please? I don’t see why I should forfeit the benefit of the free trial because I am half way through an exiting annual subscription…..

Thanks for getting back to us and for your question @NewbieNov22. I'll be happy to continue assisting you with your queries.
I understand your point of view. You can use your new Charge 6 and wait until your current Premium subscription ends. When the expiration date is close, cancel your subscription and 1-3 days after your canceled subscription expires, you’ll find an offer in the Fitbit app to begin the trial.
You can find the instructions to cancel your subscription on my previous post.

So when you say I can both use my new Charge 6 now AND wait until my current subscription ends, can you confirm that you mean by this that I can register my new Charge 6 on my Fitbit account now, and use it on that account for 6 months with my existing Premium subscription. And that, if I then cancel my premium subscription just before it ends, I’ll still see the offer of a free trial, and be able to take it up, even when I’ve already used the new Charge 6 on my Fitbit account for 6 months? I just want to make sure that I understand this correctly.

Hi @NewbieNov22. Thanks for getting back to us and for your question. I'll be glad to clarify it.
What you mentioned is correct. You can now connect your new Charge 6 to your account and use your current Fitbit Premium Subscription. Then cancel it just before it ends. About 1-3 days after your canceled subscription expires, you’ll find an offer in the Fitbit app to begin the trial.
