my device casually goes from 100 percent to 20 in less than 20 minutes, could this be due to a glitch?

Hi @PattyBlues - if your battery depletes very rapidly it is likely a serious internal fault, possibly from water getting in, and if it gets hot when charging stop immediately.
To confirm, you swiped the watch face down to get to Quick Settings to see the battery level and have restarted the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds, till the display blanks or it vibrates and waited for it to restart?
If it is under warranty you can seek a replacement.
