Versa 2 delivery of Messages/Notifications vs Versa 4/Sense 2

Hello!

I received a gift to upgrade to the Sense 2 and was so excited to received my new watch after 3 years using the Versa 2.

I really like everything about it until I was receiving the text and whatsapp messages/notifications, at this point my heart sunk and I'm wondering if there is a setting that will produce the same outcome when delivering the messages.

When receiving text messages or whatsapp messages on my Versa 2, the messages will tally up just as you were using a paper calculator or like a receipt printing out of CVS (never ending paper)... what I mean is that I don't have to move a finger or my wrist to read the content of the incoming message, several lines from the incoming message simply shows up on the watch's screen allowing me to have a sense of the urgency of the message and decide whether I needed to expand it to read the rest of the content.

Now, with the Sense 2, the watch vibrates and I have to move my wrist to see that I have a notification and it doesn't necessarily always open the message to see the content and more often than not I have to tap on the watch's screen in order to read the message and then scroll down or up to review the others that have come in.

I thought, oh well, let me try the newest Versa model, the Versa 4 and instead of upgrading to the Sense 2, I'll upgrade to Versa 4... and to my surprise it behave the same, it will vibrate to let me know that I have a message but I still have to go through extra steps to see several lines of the message.

Is there a set-up that I'm not completing or that I need to turn on in order for the Sense 2 or the Versa 4 (I currently own both) that will allow me to receive the content of the text messages or whatsapp messages the same way they were delivered and view on my Versa 2?

I do hope it's possible as I love the new watches lighting speed and their look much more than my Versa 2 (not to mention that my current Versa's look is outdated in comparison) but the delivery of the text/whatsapp messages of the new models does not work for me as my job requires that I pay attention and support to several employees and teams at all times. The way the Versa 2 delivers the content of the messages allows me to quickly read several lines displayed and prioritize as needed.

Thank you for reading my detail question and I'll keep my fingers crossed that a Fitbit expert is able to come up with a solution and/or guide through the right settings  I need to have for my Sense 2 or Versa 4 in order to have the messages delivered the same as the Versa 2.

Hi @SueBD - unfortunately why they designed the notifications on a Sense 2 or Versa 4 that way is a mystery when it was working fine on the predecessors.

There is no way to change its functioning other than perhaps trying Always On mode which will eat into your battery life.

The very similar Sense and Versa 3 work in a similar way to the great Versa 2 which is probably the most reliable watch they make. Like the Versa 2 they also have Music support, Google Assistant and loads of apps and good clock faces which the newer ones don't have.

If you are not happy with the watches Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.

Hi Guy!

I'm realizing that I didn't say thank you SO MUCH for your reply... so here it goes, T H A N K   Y O U   S O    M U C H ! !

Yes, I ended returning all the fitbit versions I purchased as none of them was providing the message delivery functionality which is the main reason why I stopped using my collection of fancy-schmancy watches and turning the fitbit versa 2 into a full-time piece.

Hopefully Fitbit will consider implementing the missing functionality in their future versions.

Have a great weekend!
