Hello Fitbit. This bug has been around since the start. Any chance you can fix it so I can see the time a bit easier please. This should have been fixed as it affects the use of the watch when you can't see the screen.
Even after the latest update installed the bug is still there where even if you set the brightness to MAX it resets back to DIM the moment you drop your wrist down. I can get it to stay on MAX brightness but as soon as the screen times out and comes back on it's back to DIM again.
Thank you.

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @Simonsimps!
Sad to hear that you're having an issue with your Versa 4.
As I'm not able to reproduce this problem on my device, I have doubts that this is a general problem with Versa 4. Have you already tried to restart your device by holding it's button for around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on it's display? If not, please sync your device before doing so to not lose any data it might have tracked so far.

This absolutely is a problem and is the issue with mine.
All settings as they should be and the brightness changes automatically to dim no matter what I set it at.
Crazy this is actually an issue that has not been fixed

@Talahthas I have tried resetting and restarting the device and the problem persists. I'd love to see a video of yours working please as it's very much a problem and you are very lucky to not have the bug.
@Odessa65 There are loads of people with the issue on various other forums, not just here with the bug so it's not just us.

@Simonsimps cheers for the heads up
Should be easy to fix if they are bothered to ...maybe in the future they will

No problem, @Simonsimps, here's the video you've been asking for:

Thanks for the video @Talahthas
What happens when you change the brightness on yours? For example if you change it to dim and let the screen timeout and then lift your wrist is it still on dim and likewise if you change back to MAX and let the screen timeout does it stay on MAX when you lift your wrist again.
Thank you.

You're welcome, @Simonsimps.
I had recorded the video after having set my Versa 4 from normal brightness to max brightness.
I've just tried if turning my wrist will have an impact after having set it from max brightness to dim. And to verify things I've tried all that again with AOD set to off this time. No issues whatsoever.
Let's check firmware versions. My device is running 61.20001.194.86.

Yes mine is the same.
Thanks for confirming everything @Talahthas 👍

Sometimes during a product's life cycle changes are made in it's hardware design, may it be to reduce production cost or to improve overall hardware performance. That's what makes releasing software updates a little bit tricky sometimes.
I can only speculate because I cannot track down production batches of this device based on it's serial number, but it very well could be that there are some 'different' Versa 4 out in the field.
