My versa 4 does not count floors correctly. In the last hour I did 15 floors and it counted 12. I have a separate counter app on my phone so I would increment the counter and then do a floor. I would then sync the fitbit app. 80% of the time it did it correctly. One time it missed two consecutive floors. If I stamp my feet as I do each trad it seems to do better. I too question much of the data from the versa 4.

It could be your floors are not quite tall enough. You could try raising your arm over your head at the top of each floor to see if that makes the difference. But also be aware floor count does not affect anything else - it is a stand-alone stat not affecting calorie burn or anything else. It does affect calorie burn only indirectly because climbing stairs probably raises your heart rate, and that is what increases calorie burn.

Hi @WinonaMan2002 - try not holding any bannisters with your watch hand, the watch needs to have a number of steps counted in combination with the elevation to register a floor.
Don't stop the moment you get to the top, a few extra steps will help. Step counting isn't immediate and can also depend partially on dominant wrist setting, non dominant can perhaps sometimes give a more accurate floor count.

Guy_ 's answer was helpful, and made the results more accurate, it is still between 10% and 20% short of the actual floors. The only thing that seems to matter is stamping on each tread both going up and down and do not exaggerate any other movements. That is too bad because it is just as much work to ascend a floor using minimal power or maximum power.
