I bought a Fitbit Versa 4 after years of using different smartwatches, such as the Pebble and Pebble Time from Kickstarter, and some cheap ones from Amazfit. I was curious about the heart sensor and its accuracy, and I liked the idea of having Google Wallet and Alexa on my wrist. However, I soon regretted my decision when I realized how buggy and poor the software was.
First of all, Alexa never worked properly. It kept disconnecting and failing to respond to my commands. I tried everything I could find online to fix it, but nothing worked. I even reset the watch, but that only made things worse. Google Wallet stopped working too. I couldn't add my cards to the device anymore. Every time I tapped on the wallet icon, the app (Android) would crash. The only way I could get it to work again was to use an old Pixel 4 phone instead of my Realme phone. But then I had to avoid using Google Wallet on my Realme phone because it would crash again.
Secondly, the watch faces were disappointing. There was a very limited selection of designs and features. I had better watch faces on my 2016 Pebble. Fitbit should be ashamed of themselves for offering such a poor product for the price they charge. They are owned by Google, for crying out loud. They should have better software and more options for customization. There are many other smartwatches out there that are cheaper and better than the Fitbit Versa 4 heck the Amazfit Bip U Pro has 90% of the features for almost 70% less cash.
I decided to go on the forums to write about the troubles. I logged in and hit new topic, I was prompted to enter a Community username as I had not made one previously, I hit enter and nothing, not even a spinning wheel, so I reloaded the page, tried a different browser (Firefox) ... Nothing. I thought hang on I'll try Chrome after all they are owned by Google. Nope, still nothing. 4 Browsers later and I jumped back onto my mobile and boom problem was solved. Utterly disappointed to say the least.
TLDR.... Buy Amazfit or TicWatch.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @BURKA, and welcome to the club! I still have my Pebble Steel and my Pebble Time Steel lying around and I also had a TicWatch model E if I remember that right. I even had pledged on Kickstarter as soon as Pebble Time 2 was presented. Then Pebble has been bought by Fitbit. But that's another story. And I still have my Amazfit GTS 2 and two Honor "smartwatches" somewhere in a closet.
I'm sad to hear about your experiences with your Versa 4. Considering your issues with your Android device you might have a closer look here to check if it meets current Fitbit system requirements:
We should consider Versa 4 as a smart fitness watch, not as a smartwatch. So Fitbit's naming may be a little bit misleading. If you'd like more features like lots of apps to play around with while at the same having some of Fitbit's benefits in terms of fitness tracking, you can always go with the Pixel watch.
And if you are a fan of a big variety of clock faces for your Versa 4, you should have a look here as there are hundreds of clock faces to choose from:
