Versa 4 - Sleep is no longer recalculated correctly

I have always had to readjust my start and end times for sleep.  My insomnia means I immediately drop into deep sleep and I consistantly wake about 1-1.5 hours later to pee.  That is usually where the app starts my sleep time.  Up until last month, I could adjust the sleep time to the correct moment and the app would recalculate my sleep pattern. Now i just end up with a big gap and inaccurate data. Is this fixable? The sleep tracking is useless if it isn't accurate.

A warm welcome to the forums @AngelaBVersa

Thank you for taking the time to share with me this information about the difficulty that you are experiencing with your Versa 4.

Please make sure that you are using the latest version of the Fitbit app: How do I use the Fitbit app?

In addition, try to perform the following troubleshooting steps on the Fitbit app:

  • Log out from the Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  • Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  • Check if the issue is still happening.

Hi,I tried your suggestion. App was already up to date and I have automatic restart twice a week on my Samsung galaxy A15. I did the full stop and restart and not only does the sleep not recalculate after adjustment, I lost the food barcode scan (just gone) and the food search function lets you type a word but nothing happens. So i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and made sure I had full permissions. Nothing is fixed. What next?

Update: the food sections are back. Just the sleep again.

Hi I am having an issue with my sleep tracking too. I have no sleep score and just a restless and asleep line. None of the data I had before. I have tried rebooting my watch and the instructions you give above and nothing has worked so far. This has only happened the last two days so no idea why. I pay for premium so I can get the sleep data so it’s frustrating when it’s not working. Any other ideas how to fix this please?

Same issue. Sender did not fix

Same issue. Above did not fix. Any other solutions? No benefit to using if I can’t manually adjust sleep times

Hi, I have had exactly the same issue for a while now. For example, last night, according to fitbit, my night started at 3am instead of 11pm. Editing it this morning, I have now a large empty gap with "no data". Despite the green banner "answered" above, it is not!. Really annoying!

Just to add I have had my Fitbit replaced as it was still under warranty and the new one is giving me the same issue so it is something to do with the app I assume.

Not sure how this got marked as answered as this is broken for everyone and the "answer" doesn't fix it.  In addition, if you update to the new app (public preview) you don't even have the option to edit sleep which suggests to me they are taking away this feature which is gonna drive me away from Fitbit / Google.  Oh and yes, I also have this issue - editing sleep is basically useless now.

Angela, will you please remove rating “best answer”. There has been no good answer to this continuing problem.

I used to edit mine and it filled in the stages but not anymore,  it adds all the time as pure sleep which is wrong! This happened when they stated our “ sleep tracking just got better”!
where do you see the public preview to the app update? why on earth would they take away our ability to edit when their data is incorrect?!

I figured out how to remove the best answer and mark the post as new. Let's see if moderators notice.

I have exactly the same issue. Recalculations worked for a while with my Versa 4 and with my prior Versa. I tried the solution recommended by ManyFitbit, and it did not work. Please give us a solution to this apparently common issue.

Hi all, I just noticed a watch update waiting for me and did it.  I am feeling mildly optimistic because my sleep recalculated! Check to see if you have a red dot next to your watch icon with your battery level on it. Let's hope this really did the trick.

Hello @ManuFitbit

I've been having the same issue as above for months. I've manually restarted my Fitbit Versa 4 several times a week. I changed my sleep setting from sensitive to normal. That made the sleep inaccuracy worse. I wear my Versa 4 every night, snug on my wrist, and not sleeping in any weird positions. Last night I got 9 hours of sleep and Versa 4 said I got 4. After I manually adjusted the time it said 6 hrs and 20 min which is still wrong. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and it's still not recording my sleep accurately. I've been a Fitbit user since 2011. Please don't send instructions on how to use my Fitbit.

Can you please find a permanent fix for this issue?

I found the same update and I think it worked.

Versa 4? This is posted in the versa 4 section with Versa 4 in the title and I replied to to the post/thread I created. Anyway, my sleep recalculated both the front and back end so it looks like the update corrected my issue.  Good luck to everyone else here.If you have a different watch, it might be worth creating a new thread in your watches' section of the site but copy the URL of this one in it so they realize it's a wider issue.I hope you all get a fix for the holidays. I will leave this thread 'unanswered' until it looks like you got help.Sent from my Galaxy

What update, Angela? It was the November update that caused the problem for me and I haven’t seen another update. The version I am on now ends with 220.31. I have iphone.
