Lately my Versa 4 has been showing a strange icon on it's display. It looks like a battery with a slash through it. No idea what it means. Anyone else out there have the same thing?

I’ve had the same issue since the update and saw that it’s also happening on the Charge. The quick fix is to turn off status indicators under display in settings. So far it has worked for me, but Fitbit is aware of it and working on a fix.

I am getting this as well after an update done last night. Trying to find out why and what it means

I’m seeing this also and this is the very first place I’ve seen that mentions this strange icon.

@whebeck54 Fitbit is rolling out a firmware update that adds Status Indicators to the Versa 4 9to5google If it is a white icon, it means your Versa 4 isn't connected to your phone. There are three others: DND is on, Sleep Mode is on, and you battery is critically low (a red battery with a slash through it). This firmware is going to other modesl, too. Some users say that they are seeing that icon when their phone IS connected.

When this icon isn’t there, my versa 4 is not connected to my phone, I just discovered.(seems backwards to me)
I also find that my Versa 4 is constantly disconnecting from my phone and have to power it off and back on to make it connect

This has been happening to me too. I was searching long and hard to see what it meant. It didn’t seem to disappear when I synced my device with my phone so I was confused!

Same here, I’ve spent 30 mins on the phone to google Fitbit and no help, have reset my Fitbit back to factory setting, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app and the disconnect symbol still appears and phone calls not connecting on the Fitbit. Lady wasn’t very helpful and no further forward and she hung up. Discrace.

If your FitBit is showing this icon, it means you don't have the GPS tracking function in the FitBit app turned on. If you turn it on (which you can do in the FitBit app from the upper left corner), then you don't have to be wearing your FitBit in order for the app to track your activity--as long as you have your phone on you. Of course, that also means Google is tracking your every movement. I have this turned OFF and will leave it off.
It doesn't have to do with FitBit syncing with your phone--that is another thing entirely.

This is not correct, the only thing difference is the stupod update that is causing the issues. Everything is the same on the phone that was before the update and after the update. I had this issue on a previous versa 4, they couldn’t fix, gave me % off a new one, I bought this one and now update and same issue. I’ll never buy another Fitbit again which is sad as have had 3. The Google Fitbit staff don’t believe it’s an update issue. Drives me mad, it also freezes in the morning on App when syncing.

I phoned Fitbit 3 times in the end as the watch was useless, the vibration on alarm wasn’t staying on strong. Eventually the said they would send me a replacement watch. They emailed me a label. Had to post it to Poland via DHL from UK which took about a week and new one returned within 2 days. New one all ok. System updates seem to send lots of watches rogue!
