Versa 4 Unreliable GPS

My Versa 4 GPS has been persistently unreliable.

The device I have is a replacement for an original purchase of versa 4 which would not set up correctly (my Versa 3 was fine and the GPS). The replacement now has an unreliable GPS (after about 3/4 months use) where it partially tracks my route or not all. My devices software is uptodate and I regularly ensure it is fully charged and still have issues with GPS. Not happy at all.

Unfortunately the GPS performance on the Sense 2/Versa 4 is quite poor. I've concluded that it is an issue with the placement of the antenna. The black plastic area around the heart rate sensor (on the back of the device) is what appears to be the antenna window. Obviously this isn't ideal for a system that relies on clear line of sight to operate effectively.

I believe Fitbit added connected (Phone) GPS with the last firmware update. Perhaps changing to that will give you better results. Of course this means you will need to carry your phone with you during activities.

hello Spfoster an everybody with GPS-problems,

I have a new fitbit versa 4 since 22/09/2024. And like you I am not happy with it. The biggest problem is the GPS function. It does not work when I choose "walking" as an activity. And  it refuses to upload the geography of my tour when I have runned or 'biked'. In that case it also  blocks imy Iphone. So I have to restart my Iphone (nothing works !) !!! Versa 4 is a shame . Where to go with a complaint ????
