Versa 4 battery draining quickly

My versa 4 has just had an update and since then it's gone haywire! The main problem is that it appears to charge up to 100% ok, but it then drains very quickly and sticks at around 78%. The battery indicator doesn't change on the fitbit or on the app, so I think it's holding its charge, but it must be draining in the background because it will suddenly go dead with no warning. When I start to charge it again it comes to life and still says 78% battery! I've tried resetting it, I've switched it off completely and back on again, I've closed the app completely and reopened it then synced the fitbit but nothing makes a difference! It just continues to die on me with no warning. It lasted 5 hours today before it died! The app still said battery at 79%. What's going on???

Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Aspenlea

I understand the situation with your Versa 4 draining the battery quickly, I'll do my best to help you with this. I thank you for the steps you've tried already.

My best recommendation would be for you to check in the Settings app on your device, find the brightness setting, and tap to change it. Also, turn off the always-on display setting (available on certain Fitbit devices). For more information, refer to How do I see the time on my Fitbit device? and consider changing your clock face, as animated clock faces may require more frequent charging. For more information, refer to How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

Hi,

I have the Exact same issue, and I''ve tried all Moderator mentioned steps- even reinstalled app, disconnected device, performed factory reset- but Factory reset won't work either🤔 It comes back same like after a restart.

Anyway, nothing works! Battey drains sooo fast.

My Device has only been in use for 13 months. I don't know what to do😵

So, what is this really about???

Fitbit App update coming up to solve this or maby Device update???

Something needs to be fixed by you guys!!!!!

I'm having the exact same issue for the last week or so. I charge it in the morning and by 6pm, it's dead or almost dead. I've followed the recommendations given by the Fitbit moderator but this didnt help.

Hi,

Seeing your answer now @CrisVillaFitbit

I've tried turn off Notifications and not used Always on Screen at all, only had setting in 5 sec. for screen.

Alexa function turned off, BTW not working at all now anyway.

Connecred my Versa 4 to Laptop with home Wifi-started Updating and I was hopeful, but it only bacame worse.

It wont say on at all if not connected 2 charger.

I've tried all, holding down certain seconds for restart, for recovery, connected charger 3 times in 8 sec. But it just wont come back on- Only if connected to charger!

What is this?

Phone updated, Fitbit App updated, Reinstalled Fitbit App, disconnected Bluetooth, turned back on after Disconnecting watch, connecting watch to App & Bluetooth- But no go!

Watch won't stay on if I disconnect charger 😔 I'm so so dissapointed!

Using an old Charge 3 now..

But I have a Versa 4 that should be working!!

Is there anything you could do to help me???

/Sabina

I'm having the exact same problem. It has to be something to do with 214 update as my 4 was working (mostly) just fine until that update. I have already done everything they recommend including a factory reset and nothing helps. There are many complaints about this update scattered across the forums. Have gone back to my old Charge 4 for now as the Versa is fubar.

Clarification: I see the 214.24 update came out in April. My 4 started acting up with the October 27th (around then) update. Was working mostly fine until then. After charging battery goes to 79% after about an hour or so then holds steady for several hours then goes appx 60% for a while then crashes and won't turn on on-just Fitbit logo.

Could I have somebody from @Fitbit looking at this ?

I'm thinking a warranty case, to get a replacement for my Versa4 @MarreFitbit or @CrisVillaFitbit

Best regards,

Sabina
