I purchased a Versa 4 8 weeks ago in the hope it would perform better than previous Charge 2, Versa 2 models that I have had to return on numerous occasions
Unfortunately I have already had major problems with the battery and now most days it goes from 100 to 0% or drops to 6% overnight
Fitbit support have acknowledged an issue but refuse to refund or send a replacement unless I send this one back, I can’t do this as I don’t want to break a 2 year exercise/steps streak
I have changed clock face, turned pretty much everything off and it doesn’t make any difference, please can someone help before I have to take legal action as this product is clearly not fit for purpose

I'm having the same issue - I bought a versa 4 a couple of months ago and battery was fine, but the last couple of days it's been draining incredibly quickly. I think the issue first started when I changed the clock face - within 8 hours it had dropped from 80+% to 4% - so I thought that particular clock face was causing the issue. However, I've now changed back to the one I had before and my battery is draining much quicker than usual - it's lunchtime now and I'm at 67%, having charged it to 100% at 9am.
Any suggestions??

Hi @penpen57 - insist vehemently with support, they will send you a replacement but don't like doing it. Somehow they think it normal to be without a watch for an indefinite period. The point of a watch is primarily to tell the time, and provide continuous health tracking and if you send it back for replacement you can't do either. It not the experience they want you to have, so insist they provide proper support.

Hi @heatherysmith -
If you can't resolve it it could be a watch fault and need replacing under warranty.

Hi PenPen, i encountered the same issue about a month after purchase. I made a post here to try to warn others the Versa 4 seems to be highly defective in many areas, IDK if they'll let this post stay up because it is so negative on the product, but out of the top 3 reasons why i returned it for a full refund the battery life was #3 (the final straw, IMHO). Here is the link to my post and the post itself, in case others out there are wondering:
Why is the Versa 4 allowed to stay on the market with so many bad experiences with the hardware? I have had the worst experience with Versa 4, even worse than the ol' cheap $99 band i had before. No matter what i did (opened support cases, researched posts & articles, and watched many youtubes to try to fix the issues) several BASIC things just did not work on the Versa 4. Has anyone had similar experiences?
List of issues:
1) the DISTANCE was always 40% to 60% over the actual distance - both miles and steps. So it consistently (and I mean every time) measured way over what i had walked/run.
2) Second issue was heart beat errors: Versa 4 seemed to always undermeasure my heartbeat, no matter how tight I put it on my wrist.
3) Third issue was battery life: a month after I got it, the battery started to quit FAST. One day it had 80% battery, next day TOTALLY DEAD. This happened to me about 3 times, mostly in the last two weeks, which was the final straw - I sent it back for a refund.
Bottom line: STAY AWAY from the Versa 4, it is a defective product out of the gate. I cannot believe Google/Fitbit management let this faulty product out into the market because they've lost me and my family as customers FOR YEARS. Would like to hear others' experience if possible, thanks.

I tried both of these and amazingly it worked! Back to normal battery life immediately.

Same issue.
I noticed intense battery drain recently (my search history tells me I searched rapid battery drain on May 13) I remember being annoyed because I had just charged it fully a few hours before (8-12 hours before). I let it go and it didn't happen again until this week. I really noticed it happening after I charged on Monday and by Wednesday it went from 100% to 20%. I usually can get four days out of my Versa 4 so I was surprised. Then I charged Wednesday night/Thursday morning (technically Thursday around 1am while I took a long bath) and today at 4pm, I got a vibration notice (which I rarely have) that my Versa battery was at 6%. I've had the same clock face since Day 1. I'm doing nothing differently (if anything, actually using my fitbit less because I have been sick the last week and a half). This has happened before but once. Now this has happened twice... and I'm thinking something fishy is going on. We'll see.
I'm a long time Fitbit user, and honestly, pretty critical of the brand. You can skip this if you don't want to hear my Fitbit Frustration and history with the brand. I started with the Charge HR and those routinely lasted me 6-8 weeks until the back piece fell off of the band. I can't remember how many replacements I got in a year (until the warranty ended) but I want to say it was 3-4. I bought a Versa back in April 2018. For those familiar with how those bands work, a springy metal piece got stuck inside the Fitbit, making it impossible for a new band to be put in there because the hole was filled with the broken piece. I got a replacement as it was under warranty. The replacement lasted 3 months; no apps could be added to it. It was a bummer because I wanted to put music on my Fitbit and not have to worry about carrying multiple devices (like no MP3 player, just my phone) on my runs. They sent a replacement to that because they said it was a software issue. I wore that Fitbit from January to June, and then it got fried in the ocean. Since my year warranty ended in April, I knew I wouldn't get another replacement, so I went back to the Fitbit versa that had the software issue. I got over that I couldn't use music/apps. It still tracked my steps, sleep, etc., and that's initially what I wanted it for. I used that one until the screen popped off. I think I did get 2 years of use or so of the second one.
Considering I did get lucky with that one Versa that lasted a while, I looked into the Versa 4 and pulled the trigger despite my reservations and history with the brand. I bought this one December 9, 2022. It arrived a week or so later. My mom got sick a couple weeks later, and my working out has gone WAY down. (Where as I used to be a 90+ minute 7 day a week workout, now I'm like a 90 minute four days a week.) So the Versa 4 isn't getting the beating I usually put Fitbits through. And yet, it still seems as if there is a big issue.
I'm told my item is under warranty, but in order to get my warranty, I have to send my Fitbit back. This means that for however many days in going through this process, I lose 8+ year of streak/data. I get paid for my healthy choices (don't get paid for adding manually) so I will lost out on however many days of pay that I'm without my watch. I have a skin disease and wearing my fitbit has thickened the skin so I don't have much pain when I wear it (only when it's been off for a few hours, then I have to get used to the rub) but going without it for x amount of days will mean that when it finally comes back it'll take a long time for my wrists to feel better and get used to it. (I have the same issue with shoes, socks, clothes, hats, jewelry, etc.). I also struggle with an eating disorder... the Fitbit both is helpful and hurtful. But knowing I'm having healthy activity helps me feel better about eating. This can get so messy in my brain, and unfortunately many people don't get that.
Quite frustrated that I have to lose so much to get a replacement on a device. This is exactly why I was hesitant to go forward with Fitbit again.
