My Versa 4 has a black screen when I take it off the charger but the screen comes on Ok when on the charger
I have tried a shutdown and turn on again, a reset by holding the button), cleaning the back and charger, changing the clock face back to a default one.
On reset it gets a red X then the screen comes on (if on charger)
It seems to be draining more quickly - it said it was about 100% and in about 1 hour was down at 78%
It does sync when on the charger but seems to be totally off when I am wearing it as its not tracking steps or doing anything

I am having the same issue. Had the black screen, button doesn’t work, tapping the screen does nothing. Never saw a notification that the app needed updated but I did finally see that and updated. I have tried all the shut down and restart procedures. Bluetooth on and off. “Forget device” multiple times. Do NOT like the big red X !!!
I have no idea what changing the clock face would do. After 4 or5 tries I finally got one downloaded. Looked like everything was working - paired with the app, connected, synced and then everything disappeared. Again. Why? Because silly me thought I could take it off the charger and put it back on my wrist. Like a few other people said - as long as it’s on the charger, it seems to be fine as soon as you take it off you’re back to blank screen again. And round and round we go. This makes absolutely no sense why it suddenly just stops.

Mine does exactly the same.
Fitbit - what can you do about it?

Re: the clock face one of the help articles I read said it could have a software glitch so to change it - but didn't work anyway! I get a battery symbol when I plug it in - I think its not recognising the battery or the battery has failed

Time to fix this. Been going on for awhile and many others experiencing the same things, so it is not just my watch. It is a systemic fault in the latest update.

Same issue here the last few days. It will still turn on, but only when on the charger. Did a factory reset and that still didn't fix the issue. It's pretty telling that there are no responses from Fitbit in regard to this issue.

Exactly the same problem. The Versa 4 seems to work fine when connected to the charger (including swiping from the clock to other functions). Once the Versa 4 is off the charger, the clock appears to work at first, but as soon as you swipe to another function, the screen goes black. The only option then is a full reset. The problem has been occurring for a few weeks now. I have tried all options and followed all advice and updates.
It seems that many people are experiencing exactly the same problem. If @Fitbit does not respond and provide a solution soon, I will choose a different brand.

I contacted support via chat. I was helped very well. Support identified a battery issue (battery frequently dropping from 100% to 5% in a short time). It is covered under warranty.
