Versa 4 didn't log my sleep from last night

My Versa 4 would not log sleep from last night. I have tried

  • uninstalling and reinstalling the app
  • resetting the watch by pressing the left side button until it shuts down and restarts multiple times, both before and after reinstalling the app
  • manually logging sleep hours

None of these work. Please advise.

Hi there, @Tagggy. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is not logging your sleep data. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If you're not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I've already done everything that is on the "canned reply" and I've been using a fitbit for over 10 years to track sleep. It did log last night, but the night before is nowhere to be found. I just got this device to replace my Versa 2, which was losing battery life and has a deeply scratched face. If this keeps happening I might return the 4 and go back to using the 2.
