Versa 4 - different issues

I am going to bullet list all the problems I've had with this 4 month old watch.. I don't know if it's the watch or Fitbit...

  • Will not sync.. I have to manually 'forget the device' then sync again anytime I want to look at my stats for the day on my phone!
  • GPS DOES NOT work.. it says in my settings that GPS is turned on, but my mileage is always wrong and there is no map of where I've run on my workout page like there used to be.. I do the same route around my neighborhood which I clocked at 5 miles.. my watch said I ran 3.5 miles in 1 hour 10 minutes!?  Should have been at least 5 miles.. drives me nuts!!
  • Calories burned will not show up until much later in the day.. in other words, I run in the morning and the calories I burned will not sync until well into the evening.. this is just annoying!!
  • The sleep feature only records my score about 3-4 nights a week

I've had this watch for 4 months and bought on this site.  I have been a Fitbit junkie, having had 4 different watches in 7 years.  My last watch was the Sense and I loved it.. the Ionic was awesome too, but this watch is horrible.. I guess I just want to know if Fitbit is trying to improve some of these flaws or if Google has bought Fitbit and is just letting it go to hell.

A frustrated but loyal customer,

Laura

I am having the very same issues and also VERY disappointed in what this Versa 4 can do. I have had at least 4 fitbit watches previously and had each one for many years. I was always happier with each new one I got as they progressed and got better. I recently had to replace my old Versa, which I loved, it had many options and add-on apps to use. It was awesome. But it was just getting old and the battery no longer held a charge. I thought I would be getting an upgrade to the Versa 4 (you would think by 4th generation it would be even more awesome), but no, it is a dreadful, pathetic letdown and disappointment. It does nothing but the absolute very basics.  I could have bought a cheapo off Amazon to do more than that!! And you can't get a hold of anybody at fitbit!! I tried to make contact, and I got connected to someone for Google in an outsourced country. So brutal. Still waiting to hear back.

I just upgraded to Versa 4 because my Versa 3 my husband got me for my birthday last year. It hasn’t been a full year. That watch was junk. It starting shutting off randomly during the day. The only way to get it back on was to plug it in. Because that invisible button was junk! I started to charge it and it got so hot I thought it was going to burn up. I’ve been a loyal customer since 2016 I’ve had “Charge HR”, Blaze, versa, versa 2, versa 3 and now 4. Here I am, reading forums, because my versa 3 was so bad and upgrading thinking I was getting a better watch. Now I see I cannot add 3rd party apps. I used my watch as a quick flash light when I was feeding my chickens or quickly grabbing something in my room so I wouldn’t have to turn a light on. Cannot add fitness games either. WTF is the point in this watch? It’s a downgrade from versa 2. Google gets ahold of something and it turns to molten squishy butt lava. I should have taken more time to read these forums before purchasing this watch which I believe will end up being one of my kids play time accessories. I should have listened to my sister and just went with Garmin. (She’s had hers for years without the slightest of problems.) This will be my last Fitbit purchase. It’s too bad to lose all of my years worth of health data. Fitbit can shove it, google can shove it too after this! Not worth the money or energy.

Ijen78, Wow,  I think you hit the nail on the head.  My Versa 2 quit working after about 2 years (that is concerning), so I upgraded to the Versa 4 thinking I would get a better watch.  I wish I had read the forums in advance too. The Sleep score became intermittent on my Versa 2, but the main reason I purchased the Versa 4 was that  and I could no longer swipe up, down, left or right on my V2.  The Sleep score worked for the first two nights and has not worked the last three nights.  I am going to give this new watch another week to see if the Sleep score starts working.  I am thinking it has to be a software issue.  I've been a loyal Fitbit user for years and wear the watch the same way.

@DKJAX Yes I so wish I would have read these reviews and not reviews on Amazon. I just realized I can no longer use my watch to find my phone now either. Not being able to add apps is annoying. Last night being my first evening with this new watch. At around 1am I went from the bed to the chair, and to the kitchen sink and back to the chair. Registered zero steps. Got up at 2am, walked around a bit.  But this morning it said I went to bed at 1:55am. It was more like 2:25.
