Versa 4 - display won't turn on

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Brand new versa 4, randomly looked like it was restarting with logo screen, then flashed to red X and screen turned off. Battery life was 56% and it is still buzzing with notifications and syncing, but the screen is black. I’ve tried the steps for powering down and factory reset and nothing happened.

Hi @Sruff, welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

I'm glad to help you with the display of your Versa 4 that is not turning on. I appreciate you have spent some time to troubleshoot this issue.

A red cross may appear for various reasons but most of the time it occurs when a firmware update has failed to complete. However, if it continues to vibrate while a notification arrives, it may be due to another reason.

In any case, we have known that a blank display issue can be resolved by changing the clock face of your device.

I hope this tip will do the magic. Happy sporty 2025!

Hi,
I ended up contacting Fitbit and we ran through changing the clock face and
some other options, but it turns out that it was my side button that died.
The representative had me clean around the button with a toothbrush to see
if it was just dirty, but that also did not help. Since that call, Fitbit
has sent me a couple emails for me to provide my information and proof of
purchase and are supposed to be completing a warranty claim, so I’m hoping
I will be receiving a replacement since this one is defective as in the
button no longer works for any task.

Thank you
