My sleep score doesn’t always record. That is my main reason for having a Fitbit.

Hi there, @Blazer43. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 isn't always tracking your sleep score. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this!

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With that in mind, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Please stop giving such a generic copy and paste answer. Why didn't I get the same with my Versa 2. It did so much better. There is something wrong with the Versa 4... Copying and pasting a response is lazy. I have seen your response all over, despite doing what it says, it is not tracking my sleep correctly or at all.

Thanks for your response. I sleep for at least 7 hrs nightly and always wear my Fitbit the same. Most of the times I get a sleep score, but never know when it’s not recorded or what causes it not to record. I do all of the things that you mentioned.

I agree my sleep score has stopped showing up for the past 3 nights, very frustrating  None of the suggested fixes solve it.

I agree the versa four has me awake sometimes for two hours in the middle of the night… I think I would notice if I were awake for two hours in the middle of the night

did you find a solution?

Best Answer

I also agree this is an unhelpful response for the sporadic but consistent lack of sleep scores.

Thanks, but no thanks. Like everything Google nowadays, copy and paste.

Why didn't I need to go through this with my Versa 2. You want me to now work and use the sleep now option? Really? Are your competitors doing this? Is this really a solution to the problem I have raised? Why was your Versa 2 better than the Versa 4 at tracking sleep? I never had problems with the 2. Now you want me to select the sleep now option before I sleep? Come on!

"Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information."

I got sleep score after several hours but not sleep stages, not the first time that happened either. It'll only show up after hours slept and on my fitbit tracker, not in the diagram or when you click on the sleep tile in the app.

I have they same issue since thee recent updates, my sleep score hasn't shown in days. It's got to be the app and a glitch in the recent updates. Hope this gets fixed soon, I'm close to looking for a different watch.

I finally got mine to work by turning off the watch and closing the app on my phone.
The person we talked to at Fit Bit was clueless.

Nothing has worked correctly since moving to Google and the most recent update. I am spending so much time trying to get my watch to work like it did previous to these two changes. Unfortunately, I have other things I need to do and am unable to spend the needed time trying to research and fix my Fitbit. I always loved my fitbits, but this is way too much work for an item that is supposed to be helping.

I tried that and it worked for a time. 🤦🏻‍:female_sign: I sent a complaint to Google in hope that fixes it.

Yes the versa4 is the worst one I have ever had the sleep is ridiculous some times it’s says I don’t go to sleep till 1.15 am when I’m in bed at 10pm & now it’s not showing the sleep stages this is RUBBISH
