Versa 4 giving ridiculous 'step up the pace' message

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the last few weeks my Versa 4 has been giving me a ridiculous 'step up the pace' message once a week. Today it said I needed to get 65271 more active minutes in the next 3 days to hit my target. The number is always around 65000. Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it?

Hi there, @cwhope. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and for bringing this to my attention. I understand where your concern is coming from, I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, I'd suggest to confirm that the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Also, please keep in mind that excess vibration might cause extra steps. Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps.

Additionally, I suggest restarting your Versa 4 and checking whether your Fitbit device is already updated

This reply does not address the topic I raised, and the edit you have made to the title is incorrect. Please restore the original title and address the topic.

I have restored the original title (or something close to it).

@cwhope   Please try the following, although I'm not positive this is the reminder that is annoying you.  Swipe down on your screen, then tap on the Settings App (or push the button and select the Settings app).  Swipe up to Goal Reminders.  Toggle the Active Zone Minute goal to Off.  Mine is toggled Off on my Sense 2 and I never get anything like that.

Dear Laurie, Thanks for replying. I don't mind getting an active zone minute reminder as such. It's just that my goal is 150 minutes, and it's telling me I need 65271 more minutes to achieve it. That's obviously wrong and I was hoping someone might know why this happens and how to stop it. If not, I may have to do what you suggest and just turn the reminder off.

@cwhope  Thanks for clarifying.  As a long time user, I have NO idea where that number might be coming from.  I don't even think Support can help you.  I suspect you will get generic troubleshooting advice and that's it.

I set my weekly zone minute higher than I want.  I was getting a message that I met my goal, even though I have it toggled off.
