Versa 4 heart rate monitory is not accurate

I have a Fitbit Versa 4 and the heart rate tracking during exercise is very inconsistent, especially when doing any sort of cardio (stair master, walking uphill, running, etc). I’ve tried wearing it tighter, looser, higher on the wrist, lower on the wrist, restarting it…. It just doesn’t track well when going about 140 bpm. This is very frustrating for a device which also does not perform some other functions like skin temperature reading.

Do I need to get my device replaced? What do I need to do? I’m getting very close to just returning it.

I have noticed that as well. I went running yesterday and it didn’t track my heart rate at all. It’s very frustrating. Today I watched it during my run and it stopped calculating 4 different times.

Hi @Levski - this is probably normal. Anything after a Versa 2 can have the same issue if you look in the forums. Some have over reading and others under reading depending on the activity and the person, more or less irrespective on how it's worn.

The good news is it is fairly accurate at rest, so sleep and resting heart rate should be quite good.

Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy, and perhaps authorised dealers too, some stores may offer a 14 to 30 day refund window with/without a possible restocking fee.

I have had Fitbit devices for several years ... their accuracy with Steps and ESPECIALLY heartrate have always been questionable.  Versa 4 was supposed to be an improvement, so I hope that Fitbit had improved/fixed the basic detection technology.

Not so.  In fact, its worse.   I played racquetball for 2+ hours today, and the heartrate didn't register over 85.   Complete nonsense ... as I could feel my heart pounding and was breathing hard.  My r-ball partner, looking at is iWatch, said "my heart rate is 120...".

I returned the Versa 4 today.  It is awful.  The "improvement" seems to be that they added new marketing crap and opportunities to subscribe to other crap.
This is my last and only post to the community with the message: the basic product Fitbit is selling DOES NOT WORK.   And all the other crap they surround the product with doesn't change that fact.

Signing out ... going to buy products from a real technology company ... Apple.
