I've been having this problem for some time now. First of all, I'm a little unhappy with this device. I upgraded only to be let down. It takes an outrageous number of steps to start counting my steps when i start walking or exercising.(More than what I've seen specified that it takes to start counting) During my treadmill sessions it doesn't keep up with me, and sometimes stops counting.?? i.e. If I hold up my wrist to look at my steps, it stops counting.  During HIIT class, it displays the wrong heart rate (too low) for the activity I'm doing at that moment, and also, when I'm trying to end an exercise my device won't press 'end', i have to keep touching it (I want to throw it on the ground!!) and sometimes i just keep going until it'll press... This is major for the Treadmill because it messes up my pace, etc. Does sweating make it harder for the device to work? Are All of these things happening because of the merger? Its making me really regret staying with Fitbit device when i could've went to an Apple watch... Can you please make an update for these problems. None of this stuff happened until Google took over.. There's also other problems I've had not under this subject.(like my device isn't counting my floors either-My Versa3 had No Problems-[it was still Fitbit}) So please fix it before i go crazy and throw it out the door. I really depend on this device, probably more than i should...so it's very frustrating when i discover it being wrong Thanks for your attention on this.

Hi @Lakeelake - the screen is sensitive to wet fingers so always dry watch and finger before operating the screen but unfortunately heart rate on later smart watches during repetitive motion may be inaccurate, either too low or way too high (mine have read almost double at times).

Before starting an exercise make sure to swipe up and set the options correctly, for example you won't need GPS if you are indoors.

If you are unhappy with the watch Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.

Hi @Trina54 - did you restart the watch and sync with the app?

See also Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

The Fitbit App if it can't get heart rate information use time only to calculate calories burnt.

So once you have successfully synced check the heart rate is showing up.

If your watch is not working as expected it is always a good idea to restart it by holding the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start.

This will eliminate any inherent issues that may have arisen and make sure it's working the best it can. Also ensure proper syncing.

In some cases if your phone is connected to your account as well as the watch, it may show only phone steps in the app if it can't get the watch steps, so make sure to check the device page (Connected to) in the Fitbit App.
