Hi there, @Ashikins. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4 and for making sure it's properly tighten to your wrist.

I suggest taking a look at this help article What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

Hi! I’ve been having the same issue for a month now. I’ve called multiple times they told me to turn it off and back on, I did that. Next call they told me to factory reset it, didn’t work. Half the time it’s not even recording then when it does it reads at least 20 to 30 beats lower. I did a 6 miles run at 8 minute pace it never went above 140 on my tracker. Unfortunately outside my return window to the store so I’m going back to my Versa 3

Same issue for me. Previously had a charge, charge 2, versa 2 and now versa 4. With all the other fitbits my gym workouts (weights as opposed to cardio) would average around 115 to 130bpm. With the versa 4, on the odd occasion it does actually detect my heart rate, it's always around 80 to 95bpm and hardly ever gets above 100bpm. I can assure you that I am not fit enough to be working as hard as I am with my heart rate barely moving! Think I'll be going to another tracker when this one starts to pack up... the HR is one of the main reasons I use a tracker as it connects to my life insurance. Inaccurate recordings are pointless

If you search the community posts for "inaccurate heartrate" you will see that this is a known issue and already been going on for more than 2 years now. For sport activities the heartrate sensor of the Versas and Senses are useless. If the deviation were constant, this need not be a major problem. But during the sporting effort, the measurement fluctuates from high to low. my Versa often gives a low reading during exercise and a high reading during rest.

All this has nothing to do with the placement on the wrist, but everything to do with the inaccurate sensor.
