Hi there, @SAMGCO. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will do my best to help you with this! 

Besides the steps, is your Versa 4 not syncing other data? Is this the first time you experience syncing issues? 

If you're still missing your steps in the Fitbit app, please restart your Versa 4 and try syncing again. Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. 

If the restart doesn't work, please follow all tips and recommendations provided here Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Thank you for your message. I have managed to sort it out this morning. I
had to do a network reset on my Iphone15 and it started working ok.

I am having this issue as well, and it is very frustrating. Even when I manually sync the app to the device it will still have different step, calorie, and distance numbers. Last night I looked at my stats before midnight, as I was trying to reach a goal number, which I did. This morning I see the app did not sync the total numbers and now it looks as if I did not reach my goal.
