Versa 4 is not tracking my distance accurately

I walk every morning using the “start exercise” button on the app to track my mileage. This feature has worked fine since I got my Versa 4 and I usually log 13 to 14 minute miles. Just this week it started tracking my miles as taking me 35 to 45 minutes a mile. I am still doing the same walk in the same amount of time so I know it is incorrect. I have done a hard reset on the Versa and done every can think of to the app on the phone. Anyone have any ideas how to get it back to tracking correctly? Thanks

I have the same issue and it has nothing to do with settings because sometimes it tracks accurately and other times it is completely inaccurate but nothing changed with the way I am tracking, wrist used, stride, etc.

Hi there, @CalabashSteve. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is still not tracking your distance accurately. I understand how annoying this can be, I will do my best to help you with this!

If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

On a side note, please bear in mind that Fitbit devices use the formula below to calculate distance. Your stride length is determined by your height and sex. Steps x Stride Length = Distance Traveled

Please note when you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects.

To update your stride length, track a run with GPS or measure your stride length manually. For more information, see Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

For more information about GPS, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
