Versa 4 is not tracking my distance accurately

I ride my bike daily, same route, just over 8 miles.  At times Versa registers .19 miles, correct time, ridiculously low distance.

Shouldn't the GPS click on immediately?  Specifically how should I use Versa to measure the distance accurately?  Should I manually start GPS prior to leaving my garage?  My smart watch isn't very smart!

Hi there, @Txrzrbk. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your distance data. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this.

Please note when you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your
distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects.

To update your stride length, track a run with GPS or measure your stride length manually. For more information, see Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

For more information about GPS, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

Additionally, if you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

On a side note, please bear in mind that Fitbit devices use the formula below to calculate distance. Your stride length is determined by your height and sex. Steps x Stride Length = Distance Traveled

I don't believe you answered his question. It had to do with biking, not walking. So stride length has nothing to do with it. I am trying to figure out why my BIKING activities are converted to steps taken. Fitbit says I've walked a marathon distance of 26 miles. Not hardly. I've biked that far. But not walked.
