Versa 4 is not tracking my floors

I just started with Versa 4.

I live in a 4 flight dwelling. With the Sense I was getting a large number of floors. I know 3 times I walked up 4 flights. I only was credited 4. I reduced my goal to 4. Because your Versa 4 can't count stairwells.

Hi @Josh5 - if the watch isn't counting stairs properly it may have a fault or you may be holding the bannisters.

Changing to non dominant wrist may help in this respect. The watch needs to count a certain number of steps in conjunction with an elevation change.

You are correct @Josh5 stair count has been removed from the Versa 4. See https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/products/smartwatches/versa4

@Rich_Laue   You are incorrect.  The full Versa 4 specs, included in your link, shows that it has an altimeter.  I wear a Sense 2, which has the same OS plus hardware.  It definitely counts floors.

@Guy_  The altimeter measures a change in barometric pressure and doesn't require steps to register.  A few years ago, a user woke up to over 10,000 flights because they slept next to an oscillating fan.  Gusty winds can also trigger floors.  If you are suggesting changing the dominant/non-dominant setting, this won't have any effect.  That setting affects the accelerometer, not the altimeter.

@LZeeW - to count floors properly steps are required unless the watch or firnware is faulty and then it can count random number of floors or none.
