Versa 4 is not tracking my heart rate or any health metrics data

Versa 4 is not tracking any health metrics, including heart rate and sleep.

I’ve watched many videos, looked up any information I could find from Fitbit, cleaned the sensor, made sure it was properly positioned on my arm, and reset my device at least three times, and nothing has worked.  Any suggestions?

"and sleep."

Do you mean it is not detecting any sleep?

Yes, it’s not detecting sleep or heart rate.  This is a brand new device.

Exact same thing is happening to me. It worked the first 2 days then just out right stopped tracking everything. I've also looked online for a solution but have found nothing that works.

Hi there, @Jessica_3482 @Chern79. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that your Versa 4 devices are still not tracking your health metrics data despite the steps you've tried. I understand where your concerns are coming from, I'll do my best to help you. @JohnnyRow Thanks for trying to help!

As a first approach, I'd recommend taking into consideration the following information in order to get your health metrics data:

  • Wear your device for at least 1 full day (during the day and to sleep at night). Check your stats after you wake up in the morning. Note: skin temperature requires 3 nights of data.
  • Make sure the back of your device is in contact with your skin. The band should be snug but not constricting. If you experience any discomfort, loosen the band, and if it persists give your wrist a break by taking it off.
  • Most metrics require at least 3 hours of quality sleep. If you move a lot during your sleep or the sleep session is too short, you might not get a reading.
  • To track your blood oxygen saturation, confirm you have an SpO2 clock face installed. For more information, see How do I track blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) with my Fitbit device?

As you need sleep stages for your health metrics data, please see Why don't I see sleep stages today?

Nevertheless, since you both have mentioned that your devices are pretty new, and sleep stages and health metrics are based on heart rate data, give the heart rate a few days to settle down. It does some calculations, looking at heart rate throughout the day and while you are sleeping, so it might just not have enough data to give a reasonable value yet.

@MarreFitbit  Did you notice even thought title says health metrics, upon further questioning, she says not even getting heart rate.  So that is the basic issue.  Cannot expect to get health metrics or anything else until get heart rate readings.

my heart rate data is totally inaccurate and just sticks at one number even while I’m working out. I have done all the things recommended. What can I do to fix this?

Thank you @MarreFitbit, I’ll give it a few days.
