Versa 4 is tracking my heart rate too low

The heart rate when running with Versa 4 is about 20 to 30 beats less than my old Garmin which is closer to my manually measured heart rate. Today I wore both and got 93 ave, 137 max on the Fitbit and 127 ave, 148 max on the Garmin. The average was off by 34 beats.  Support said to do a factory reset, but that did not make any difference. For some reason, the Fitbit is more accurate when doing strength training rather than running. I will have to stick with a Garmin for my runs though. I saw in other comments that the old 2 was more accurate than the 4. I am disappointed that the Fitbit Versa 4 uses an inferior technology that is off by as much as 20 to 30 percent.

Hi there, @Ecahn. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties to get accurate heart rate readings with your Versa 4 while running. I understand why you're feeling disappointed since this data is very important for you. Thank you so much for already taking the time to try troubleshooting the issue prior to posting here.

Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with the Versa 4 and also want to find a solution to the inconvenience, please note my best advice is to continue troubleshooting the issue with our Support Team. They've been providing all steps necessary for this issue, so basically there's no much else we can provide here in the forums as the steps would be the same as the ones our team has already shared with you.

Since you already have a ticket open with them it'd be easier to continue the follow up on this matter with them directly. They will tell you what's next!

We hope to get you back on track soon!
