Floors is an awful counter. Some days on my walk it give me lots. Next day on the exact same walk none. I try to delete it in the app but it just automatically reappears. I hate it on the device Today screen too, but that appears to not be customizable (you should make that change too).

Hi there, @Osu1. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4. I understand how you must be feeling.
Please bear in mind that manually logging a driving activity won't delete the floors but negate them instead.
On a side note, please know that your Fitbit device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. For more information, see Why does my Fitbit device count extra floors? You can also find more information about tracking activity in this help article How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
Said that, here are some of the possible causes for this inaccuracy:

Hello @Osu1 and welcome to the Community. With respect to your app question, do you use an iPhone? This is a known issue with the iOS app. Fitbit hasn't announced a time frame for a fix. If you are asking about the floor count on your Today app on the Versa 4, you can remove stats from the screen. Swipe left on a stat and you can remove it from the screen. You will see "Hide" just before it disappears. You can also press harder and drag stats to a different position, making this screen very customizable.
The floor counter uses a relative altimeter that measures very small changes in barometric pressure. It is supposed to register a floor with a continuous 10 foot rise in elevation. Breezes, especially gusty breezes, can trigger false floors. This can happen indoors and out. I also can get floors when opening the tight fire doors at work. Floor counting doesn't affect calorie burn, so don't worry about that.

Mine was fine for about year then went stupid, from 10ish a day to over 100.
turns out I had been doing diy and sanding wood.
The little hole on the back near strap clip was blocked. Used plastic toothpick and removed plug, now works fine again
