Versa 4 is tracking too many floors

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa 4 is tracking waaay too many floors!  This morning I had 19 floors before I left my bedroom.  I am now up to 25 without doing anymore floors.

I have updated the app.  I have done a factory reset twice.  I have cleaned off the back.  I live in a dry climate in southwestern Colorado, do I don't think too much moisture is the issue.

Is there anything else I can try???

I think the app is fully screwed up. There are tons of complaints on the boards since the last update.

Thanks for responding.  I completely agree.  Hoping Fitbit will respond as I have only had this product for six months and would like this issue resolved.

I am having this same problem since the update that came out recently. All was good prior to this. I'm getting 86 floors sometimes when at most I've done 10!

I thought I was going crazy, at least I'm not alone. This thing has me at 75 Floors today 🤦🏽‍:female_sign:

Hi @Lynncas - if you are under warranty you can get a replacement watch but it may not be worth the bother as the floor count is only informative and doesn't affect other measurements, so it can be ignored, annoying as that is.

The pressure sensor can become faulty. A factory reset is unlikely to fix it, though if it is a firmware issue it might.

I am under warranty.  Fitbit support has said it is a software glitch and they are working on it.  The reason I want it fixed is because I think it also affects my active minutes and calories burned when it is so grossly over what I have actually done.  I have been a Fitbit user for the last 10 years, but if they don't make this right I am moving on to a Garmin or Samsung product.

@Lwood40 Which I think misses up active minutes and calories burned, making this just a basic pedometer.

@DGray0322 Frustrating.  fitbit support said they were working on a software glitch.

@Lynncas- did you change firmware? what is your current level?

The last change was in September 2024, see "Versa 4 update 210.26" but it is unlikely a firmware problem if it happened by itself. The previous firmware 194.86 was possibly more robust but you can't normally go back.

I looked back over my data, and it looks like things got wonky starting at the beginning of 2025. My December floors graph (within the Fitbit app, by drilling down into the Floors count) shows 12 floors per day average. The January graph shows 54 floors average, with some days showing 90(!!) which is NOT correct. I'm running the 210.26 firmware with the app at version 4.35 from Dec 14, 2024. So this problem doesn't seem to correlate (date-wise) with the firmware update or the app update. However, there's definitely something wrong here!

I'm glad they are looking into it!
