Hi I'm a 68 year old woman whose been active my whole life. My resting HR is 57 (and I get down to 48 at night) but the zone 1 lower range is 95. I have to do a full speed walk to get over that range and it doesn't seem moderate. Even a hill walk where I'm breathing hard doesn't make it to 96. THat includes things like a Bodypump class which is very intense but I'll only get a few active minutes. Conversely when I'm cycling it doesn't take much effort to get to that range! Interestingly when I had a Charge fitbit I had the opposite problem, cycling didn't add minutes and walking and Bodypump did. I lowered my max a bit to adjust.

Also note the big difference between your Charge and Versa 4 in how the heart rate zones are calculated, and Versa 4 using Zone Minutes, whereas Charge used the former Active Minutes, generally easier to achieve at lower heart rates.

Yeah I e heard this but that’s not what I was asking. Let me put this another way. My perceived effort while hiking/walking and certainly body pump weight lifting is same as the cycling yet my heart rate according to the versa4 is very dissimilar. I’ve had time in the body pump class to manually check my heart rate and it was higher than the device. So I sorta feel cheated. Unless I’m cycling!
ive always had a relatively lower resting and training rate than others..so that might be a factor in accuracy

I note you are talking Zone 1, I suppose of Zone 1 through 5, not using Fitbit's Fat Burn, Cardio, and Peak zones, so disregard everything I said above about heart rate zones. At first when I read your Zone 1, I was thinking you must mean Fitbit's lowest zone (fat burn zone) but now realize numbers don't make sense for that, so you must be talking another system. I don't pay much attention to those other zones so can't speak to them so I'm not qualified to address your question, though I do understand your issue of not believing Fitbit is showing correct HR readings for some exercises.
